2027 Nissan Z in Martinsville, VA

Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic, new for 2027 and a nod to the Grand Prix Green of the original S30. Nissan photographed this car for the 2027 model year, so the grille and the badge on the nose are the ones you will see on our lot.

The 2027 Nissan Z sold near Martinsville, VA comes in four configurations: Sport, Performance, Performance Automatic and NISMO. What is new on the 2027 Nissan Z?

Four changes for 2027. The NISMO gains an available six-speed manual and GT-R-derived front brake rotors. Sport and Performance get a restyled front bumper and grille drawn from Nissan's classic sports cars. Performance gains larger-diameter shock absorbers. And every trim gets a revised fuel tank design for sustained hard driving.

This is a refresh of the car Nissan reintroduced for 2023, not a new generation. The platform, the engine and the shape are the ones you already know. What changed is the face, the damping on the Performance, and the one thing Z buyers had been asking for since the NISMO arrived.

The fuel tank revision is the quiet one. Nissan says the new design helps the car hold performance steady during aggressive track driving, which is a fuel-delivery problem that only shows up under sustained cornering load.

Which 2027 Nissan Z trim fits a Martinsville driver?

Sport is the entry car on 18-inch wheels. Performance adds 19-inch RAYS forged wheels and Akebono four-piston front brakes. Performance Automatic is the same car with the nine-speed. NISMO is the tuned one, now available with three pedals.

Rear brakes follow the same pattern: single-piston on the Sport, Akebono two-piston from Performance up. If you are going to see the Blue Ridge side of US-220 with any regularity, the brake package is the upgrade that matters more than the wheels.

Does the 2027 Nissan Z NISMO come with a manual?

Yes, and 2027 is the first model year it does. The Z NISMO was automatic-only until now. Nissan pairs the new six-speed manual with two-piece front brake rotors derived from the GT-R, which take weight off the front axle.

This is the reason to pay attention to the 2027 car if you are a Z buyer. The NISMO has always been the sharpest version and has always made manual drivers choose between the tune and the gearbox. That choice is gone.

Availability on a specific build is a different question from availability on paper. Call us before you set your heart on a configuration and we will tell you what can actually be ordered and what is sitting on the ground.

What fuel economy does the 2027 Nissan Z get?

The Performance Automatic is the most efficient at 22 mpg combined. The Sport and the manual Performance are rated 20 combined. The NISMO is rated 18 combined. All four take premium gasoline, and all four figures are EPA estimates.

These are EPA estimates for comparison between vehicles. Your actual mileage will vary with how you drive, how you maintain the car, and the roads you use it on. A Z driven the way a Z invites you to drive it will not return the highway number.

Is the Nissan Z a good car for the roads around Martinsville?

For the right roads, yes. US-220 north toward Roanoke runs between Cahas Mountain and the Blue Ridge at Boones Mill and crosses the Blue Ridge Parkway at Murray Gap. That is the terrain a rear-drive coupe with 400 horsepower was designed around.

The honest caveat is that it is a two-seat car with no back seat and limited cargo room, so for almost everyone here it is a second vehicle rather than the only one. It will not take the family to Danville or carry anything from the garden center.

Rear-wheel drive also asks something of you in winter. Henry County gets ice, and a 400 horsepower rear-drive car on cold tires is a different proposition from the Rogue in your driveway. Plenty of Z owners here simply park it when the roads turn.

The profile that has not changed for 2027, and did not need to. The proportions are the part of the Z that carried straight through from the 2023 reintroduction.

What is the inside of the 2027 Nissan Z like?

Two seats and a driver-first layout. The three pod gauges on top of the dash are a Z signature carried through from the earliest cars, and the steering wheel design is drawn from the GT-R. Performance adds a tan interior option for 2027.

It is a focused cabin rather than a luxurious one. Everything you need while driving is within reach of the wheel, and the storage that a family crossover gives you simply is not there. That is the trade the car asks you to make.

Greensboro Road is US-220 heading south toward the North Carolina line. From Martinsville it is a short run south; from Rocky Mount you are coming down the same road, which is the halfway point of the 51-mile run to Roanoke.

From Danville it is about 30 miles and roughly 36 minutes on US-58, then a few miles on US-220. The Z is a low-volume car, so call ahead and we will tell you what is actually on the ground before you make the drive.

What do Martinsville drivers say about Gunter Nissan?

These are Google reviews pulled straight from the dealership's profile, in whatever order Google returns them, rather than a set we picked out. They cover the whole store rather than the Z specifically, so read them for how we treat people and not for notes on this particular car.

What else do Martinsville shoppers ask about the 2027 Nissan Z?

What is new on the 2027 Nissan Z?

The headline change is that the Z NISMO can finally be ordered with a six-speed manual. Nissan also gives Sport and Performance a restyled front bumper and grille drawn from its classic sports cars, and adds larger-diameter shock absorbers to the Performance.

Every 2027 Z also gets a revised fuel tank design that Nissan says helps hold performance steady during aggressive track driving.

Does the 2027 Nissan Z NISMO come with a manual transmission?

Yes, and that is new. The NISMO was automatic-only before 2027. Nissan now offers it with a six-speed manual, alongside GT-R-derived two-piece front brake rotors.

If you want the most focused Z with three pedals, 2027 is the first model year that combination exists. Call us and we will tell you what is realistic to order.

How much horsepower does the 2027 Nissan Z have?

The Z Sport and both Performance configurations run Nissan's 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 400 horsepower. The Z NISMO uses a NISMO-tuned version of the same engine rated at 420 horsepower.

Every trim is rear-wheel drive. There is no all-wheel-drive Z.

What are the 2027 Nissan Z trims?

Four configurations: Z Sport RWD, Z Performance RWD, Z Performance Automatic RWD and Z NISMO RWD.

Sport rides on 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with two-piston front calipers. Performance steps up to 19-inch RAYS forged-alloy wheels and Akebono four-piston front brakes. NISMO gets its own RAYS wheels and the tuned engine.

What fuel economy does the 2027 Nissan Z get?

EPA estimates are 18 city, 24 highway and 20 combined for the Sport and the manual Performance. The Performance Automatic is rated 19 city, 28 highway and 22 combined. The NISMO is rated 16 city, 21 highway and 18 combined.

All four take premium gasoline. Your mileage will vary with how you drive and how you maintain the car.

Is the Nissan Z a good car for the roads around Martinsville?

It depends what you want from it. US-220 north toward Roanoke climbs between Cahas Mountain and the Blue Ridge and crosses the Blue Ridge Parkway at Murray Gap, which is the kind of road a rear-drive coupe was built for.

It is a two-seat sports car, so it is a second vehicle for most people here. It will not carry a family or a load of mulch.

How far is Gunter Nissan from Martinsville?

About four miles. We are at 4760 Greensboro Rd in Ridgeway, just south of Martinsville on US-220, the Virgil H. Goode Highway.

The Martinsville Speedway administration and ticketing building sits at 4201 Greensboro Rd, a few hundred yards up the same road from us.
